CRAIG Gordon admitted 3mbet he was delighted to tick off two milestones in one game after making a speedy recovery to return for Wednesday night’s game against Dundee.

The Hoops stopper made his first appearance in nine weeks as Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 10 points following a 0-0 draw with Dundee.

In addition to helping Brendan Rodgers side edge closer to the league title, Gordon also ticked off two remarkable milestones of his own. His place in the starting XI marked his 200th appearance for Celtic and the clean sheet was his 100th since arriving at Paradise in the summer of 2014.

Speaking to the media following the game, Gordon touched on the game and his record as a Celt.

“I was stuck on 199 appearances and 99 clean sheets so there were a few months of waiting to try and get back and get the two milestones,” said the 35-year-old. “To do it in the same game is very satisfying for me.

“A 50 percent clean sheet record is a great record for any goalkeeper at any club, in any league, so I’m delighted with that. I probably didn’t think it would be possible to play 200 games for Celtic. I hoped it would be but that was probably beyond my expectations when I came here.

“I thought we handled their attack fairly well, especially in the second-half. From that point of view, we’re happy with that but we obviously didn’t get the goal that would have won us the game."

The Celtic goalkeeper overcame career-threatening injuries in the past and he said his experience in facing such adversity prepared him well for the injury he sustained in the 1-0 win over Hibernian in January.

“It was great to get back only nine-and-a-half weeks after the injury which looked to be, at the time, after the scans, a lot longer than that," he said. “My knee was in a brace for five weeks so four-and-half weeks from getting the brace off to playing has been a quick turnaround.

“The physios have been great - from Tim Williamson organising all the scans and Jenny Graham, the physio who works day-in-day-out with the long-term injuries, who has been brilliant. Dave McGovern took me out to get used to the movement patterns, right through to getting back with the goalkeepers over 3mbet the last few days. It’s been bit of a journey but one that we’ve done quickly.

“I’m 35 now, so when these things come along, even if the worst-case scenario is career-ending, I’ve still done remarkably well to come back. It’s easier for me now.

“I’ve already had what could have been the end of my career and managed to come back from it. Whenever that time comes and it’s the end of my career, whether it’s through choice or an injury, it probably doesn’t hold as much weight as what it would to someone else because I’ve already been there and managed to come back from it.”

Scott Bain has been between the sticks in recent weeks and impressed with a series of solid performances. Craig Gordon admitted that he now anticipates a battle to regain the No.1 spot.

“Scott’s been in the team over the last two or three games," he said. "He’s had a couple of clean sheets and a few decent performances. I’ll need to work hard. I was happy with my performance against Dundee. I thought I read the game quite well, which is always something that takes a little bit of time coming back 3mbet so I was happy with that.”
