|The Manchester United defender will be hoping to get back to his best at Old Trafford next season.
Manchester United maxbet went into the summer transfer window with a number of key areas needing strengthening, and yet it is now being claimed that manager Jose Mourinho has abandoned his search for a new left-back and will instead put all his focus on other areas of his under-performing squad.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United may target an additional full-back in January, but that leaves the first half of the season for others to stake their claim, none more so than Marcos Rojo.
The 28-year-old is a typical Mourinho defender; a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to put his body on the line week in, week out. The problem is, injuries have curtailed his progress at United and he rarely got a look in prior to his latest World Cup exploits.
Argentina's latest goal-scoring hero will be focusing solely on his country for now. However, once he returns to Manchester he will be hopeful of making up for lost time.
The problem is, centre-back is already well covered and could get even more maxbet crowded if United add yet another defender to their ranks as has long been suggested.
Add to that the emergence of Victor Lindelof as a player who could make a belated mark on United's back line in his second year, and Rojo's opportunities could be slim to say the least.
Yet there is an alternative, that could ultimately see United save a considerable amount of money, because Rojo is also a fine left-back who burst on to the scene there for Argentina before switching to the centre.
Ashley Young made the position his own last season, and United fans are still hoping Luke Shaw comes good, but the Argentine is another viable option to fill in on the left side and he has the pace to cause problems at both ends of the pitch.
There have always been questions about Rojo's defensive nous and his habit of jumping in first and thinking later, yet at 28 his game should be maturing and there are few better to learn from than Mourinho when it comes to keeping the ball out.
If Rojo returns to United with the bit between his teeth, he could ensure maxbet that even when Young's pace dwindles, Mourinho already has a ready-made replacement.
